How I dealt with ALDUB SepAnx

Woke up on a sunny Sunday morning, a day dedicated to all mothers all over the world. After my short morning prayer, it’s already a habit for me to open my tablet and check updates on my social media accounts. It suddenly felt like I just took a double shot of  hot espresso upon seeing updates and pictures of RJ & Maine leaving for Italy! Me be like:

WHHUUUUTTT?!!!! They are leaving today?! WAIT! I THOUGHT IT WILL BE LIKE AFTER ELECTIONS! I AM NOT READY FOR THIS YET! NO! PLEASE! NO! PLEASE!

As I browse my IG, I saw this sweet picture from Aldenatics account: when RJ was like fixing Maine’s hand carried black backpack and him rolling his luggage after they emerged from the same car (which is RJ’s) and not far beside them is the car of Meng’s Tatay Teddy with Kuya Nico & Dean staring at how RJ takes care of Meng like a baby! How sweet to see them like that even in front of Meng’s family.

Okay! This pic did calm me a little. From 100%, my sepanx percentage went down a notch by seeing Meng’s family allowing her to ride on RJ’s car, isn’t that a relief?! They approved of them spending weeks together in Italy. RJ definitely gained the Mendoza family’s trust and support!

Like any other AlDub fan I also wondered: “Did RJ fetched Meng in Bulacan and personally assured her safety under his loving care?” Well, nobody can confirm this as of this writing but I’ll be the “funnywalain” fan as I wanna be. Mas kilig isipin na sinundo nga talaga sya ni RJ and the men of the Mendoza family just chose to convoy together with his car. Meng’s luggages might be loaded in their family car as well. Thoughts after thoughts run in my mind and as I continue to browse I saw this: credits to WM

YES! You are seeing it right! That is Nanay Mary Ann Mendoza, traveling together with RJ & Maine! Some fans sighed and felt disappointed (aminin nyo!), some even commented “WHUY! Tisoy may bantay!”

“Patay! Di makaka-HOKAGE moves si Kissoy andyan si NAnay Dub!”

“Enebenemenyen! Akala pa naman namin may freedom sa Italy! Kasama na si Nanay Dub pati si JN (Jenny Ferre) andyan din!“

Hilarious comments from disappointed fans! I know where you’re all coming from, if I was your age (coz almost all the comments written like those stated above came from the millenials) I would also feel the same way! But Nah! I am as old as Eat Bulaga and my perspective is kinda a little different from yours though… I likewise feel your sentiments, sometimes! Just sometimes but not all the time.

We all expected RJ & Meng to have the time of their lives together in Italy. Pagkakataon na nga naman nung dalawa to get to know each other a whole lot longer, better and deeper (who would not?!). Italy is a very romantic place but even the wise Mang Jani, twitter’s wittiest @BroadwayJanitor suggested that if ever RJ & Meng plan of having a few date nights in Italy, they should date with the group or else the romantic atmosphere in Italy might get the better of them *winks*, we all know what he means…

From the point of view of a wife who is a year and a half older that Eat Bulaga (that’s me!) – Nanay Dub traveling together with MaiChard is a welcome event! Think of this, RJ will get to spend time with the mother of his lady love away from the prying eyes of the public. He can simply be RJ whenever he is with Nanay Dub and Meng. Nanay Dub will get to know the true and beautiful character of RJ, raised well by his equally chivalrous Daddy Bae and values-filled Lola Linda.

Nanay Dub will get to see how RJ takes good care of Meng on and off the camera. Don’t we all like the thought of them eating meals together, bonding and talking personal things; RJ asking Nanay Dub for pointers on how to handle business? Consider this, Meng will get to see how RJ would deal respectfully with her Nanay Mary Ann. Pogi points kaya kay RJ yun!

I remember my ex-boyfriend, he has got a way in dealing with my parents. He was afraid of my father but he never fails to pay his respect to him whenever he goes to our house or just chance upon my Papa along the road. He also gets to spend time with my Nanay and helps her with whatever she needs whenever my ex-BF is at our home. My parents get to love him as days, weeks, months and years passed by. They grew closer everyday. You are probably asking: what happened to my ex-BF?! Well… we are happily married for 16 years now! Wouldn’t you like that same fate to happen to Alden? OF COURSE WE ALL DO! (in bold and all caps para intense!)

Isn’t it a beauty to see how well RJ is inclining towards Nanay Dub’s shoulders? Sweet nila tingnan!

Truth be told, all mothers think alike! Mother’s instinct is to always protect her offspring. But once a mother sees and proves that her children is going to be in good hands, she would really reciprocate the care and love you give to her child and she will definitely love you back! I know that for a fact. My husband is my living testimony. My mother would cook his pack lunch way before I get to wake up in the morning and many more acts of love that I know she is just mirroring because that is what she sees my husband is doing to me!

With all these thoughts in my mind, my separation anxiety is already in its lowest percentage.

The Team Abroad (Italy Chapter) and Their Warm Reception

They went to the airport on the time and day of MaiChard arrival. The City of Como did not expect them to turn out in flocks and battle the cold weather at that side of the world, waiting outside the hotel where RJ & Maine is lodged just to have a glimpse of them. Team Abroad-Italy Chapter waited for hours in line for a much awaited photo opportunity with these love birds they so adore. That part of Italy once again made it to the maps and trended in twitter all because of AlDub and their passionate supporters. WAY TO GO TEAM ITALY!!! photo credits to the rightful owners WM

My Prayer for their Italian Workation

We all know that RJ & Meng went to Italy to work on a film which will serve as their 1st Anniversary gift for their beloved AlDub Nation. We all clamor for them to have projects of their own and they have heeded to our request: right after their highly rated melodrama Lenten Special “God Gave Me You”, we are now anticipating their first movie – where they are the lead characters. It is a first for both of them so I could just imagine how nervous these two are as they currently shoot the movie scenes in the picturesque places of Italy.

As per write ups and tweets from people close to them, the movie’s working title: Imagine You & Me is a non-typical boy meets girl romantic-comedy cum light drama film which is befitting for AlDub-MaiDen-MaiChard as their first meeting was never really planned & typical but purely coincidental, sweet serendipity as Meng would put it into words.

Given unity as a trait natural to a true blooded AlDub-MaiDen-MaiChard Nation, all accounts administrators agreed in filtering updates to maintain the movie’s thrill and sweet surprise. Meanwhile as we await, let us all be one in prayer for:

• RJ, Meng, Nanay Dub, Leysam, Direk Mike Tuviera, their co-actors, the production people and crew’s good health
• Good weather on their locations
• Some leisure time for RJ & Meng (you know);
• Nanay Dub’s permission if ever they are planning to have a date in Italy &;
• this to finally happen:

they took a picture on separate fountains with their own wishes; As they spend some time in romantically magical Italy, will they finally have a picture together on the famous Trevi Fountain that grants wishes?

The Break-Up

The show’s co-hosts came and went, some retired, some did “career-wise” moves, some passed-away while others took a different career out of showbiz  yet the staying power of the show with TVJ as its pillars is still up there standing tall and ready to conquer all! 

I learned to love whoever come as new co-hosts of EB because I love the show period! Pero yun na nga, tumatanda tayo at kasabay ng pag-usad ng mga taon ng EB, I grew up and eventually became a professional and took my own career path, that’s the time EB & I have to (temporarily) part ways…

Years passed and I only got a few chances to watch EB’s Saturday episodes and some Juan for All-All for Juan segments over YouTube coz aside from TVJ and Madame Ruby Rodriguez, I am also a huge fan of JoWaPao especially Jose’s antics and wits! Here’s one of the examples from EB’s YT Channel

But there really came a time that I never got any chance to watch at all! Since I never got to watch them regularly, di na din ako updated sa kanila, pati kung sino na ang mga latest addition sa hosts. In short, me and EB’s relationship went from cool off to a total break-up 😭

The Reconciliation

I thought I’ve already gotten over my love for the noontime show that is a year and a half younger than me (another clue of my true age 😆) — but not until July 16, 2015 came…

My migraine got me feverish that day and I had to call the office informing them of my sickness, said to myself: I’ll sleep the whole day and just lie in bed doing and worrying about nothing!

YES! I did lie in bed but I wasn’t able to sleep! Now… what?! Grabbed my TV remote and pressed my favorite cable channels but can’t find a good movie or documentary to watch so I just browsed until I chanced upon my first love, yeah… my mind may have forgotten but my joyful, fun-loving and antic lover heart leaped out in joy!

Seeing Jimmy Saints, Allan K and Henyo Master Joey sitting on the panel introducing the Dabarkads on remote. Once again I found myself glued watching Eat Bulaga. The excitement grew more when I saw that JFA segment is on location at Olongapo, Zambales which is my father-in-law’s hometown that I also learned to love.

Saw Jose and Paolo bantering, they were hilarious as ever, witty even. Para akong bumalik sa pagkabata ko, that’s where I realized I missed watching the show live! And here comes the Wally Bayola dressed as an old Donya riding in a manual boat and with him… who was that?! a newbie portraying Lola Nidora’s nanny?! I don’t really know her. Where did she come from?! Those were just the questions running in my mind, questions that I easily forgot the moment I saw JoWaPao on the other side of the split screen exchanging jokes and answering EB Problem Solving questions, they never fail to entertain me really!

And then this pretty lass with a seemingly elastic face started lip syncing songs and movie lines – to my surprise – I seem to understand her even if she is not speaking! What’s with this girl playing nanny yet has more supple and smooth skin than Donya Nidora?! She can’t seem to stop serving the snob Donya by holding that fan up & down her poker face to cool her down?! The wacky nanny is tiny framed but charming and adorable!

And this guy, this guy!!! (again dahil break nga kami ng EB at halos lahat ng GMA shows) who is he?! Ang cute nya! He looks like an angel with a dimple!

The camera keeps on focusing alternately between the wacky nanny and this dimpled lad until… BOOM! I will never forget their natural reaction towards each other:

The dimpled lad obviously was amazed at how the nanny crumples her cute face; while the nanny (who’s pre-instructed not to smile and laugh) suddenly went out of character and became all giddy with the sight of the cute lad (who wouldn’t?! he is irresisitably cute!). The nanny whom I came to know – answers by the moniker Yaya Dub – and the guy?! I just knew his screen name when Allan K shrieked “Yieee! Yaya kinikilig ka kay Alden! Lumalantud ka Yaya!”

Reunited and it feels so good

After years of separation from my break-up with EB, I found myself rekindling my love for the show, its host and the segments I so miss! Thanks to the cute-wacky-nanny named Yaya Dub and this angelic faced lad named Alden, they made me fell in love with Eat Bulaga for the second time and no one prepared me from the fact that this second chance at love would make me fall hard. I am reunited with my all-time favorite noontime show and it feels so damn good!!!
